So I’ve deleted EVERY post from Facebook and I’m done with it.

I had written a Book Review for The Books of Blood Vol 1 by Clive Barker directly into a post on Facebook. This is an anthology that has six stories within. I believe it was story four, Pig Blood Blues, that was the culprit. In the review I mention that there is a character that commits “suicide.” Apparently, that is a no-no on Facebook. That is a banned word.

The moment I logged in, a box popped up letting me know of the removal, stating it was against their community guidelines, and then they gave me a suicide prevention link…

This follow-up to Hyperion is phenomenal.

Book 2: The Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons

In my last review, for Hyperion (READ the REVIEW HERE), I was blown away by the depth, scope, and writing of the universe that Dan Simmons had created. In the direct follow-up, Simmons has proven that this series stands rank and file among the greatest series in Sci-Fi and Fantasy literature. The Hyperion series is up there with Dune by Frank Herbert and Lord of the Rings by J.R.R Tolkien.

Now that our pilgrims have reached the Time Tombs on the planet Hyperion, they will find their fate dictated by the blades of the Shrike, The Lord of Pain. Meanwhile…

The jeans and cargoes people are now the edgy free thinkers.

The athletic wear or activewear industry as of 2019 was a $181 Billion industry. By 2025 it is expected to be a $208 Billion industry. That means everyone is getting in on the trend. Meanwhile, the global denim industry was just under $69 Billion and it is speculated to grow to around $102 Billion by 2025. If the athletic wear trend holds, I’m not so sure denim will make it to that. The main reason that denim has seen a fall in market share is because everyone has gone athletic wear.

There was a time when athletic wear was for…

If you’ve been looking for a Sci-fi book with depth, you’ve found it.

Hyperion by Dan Simmons Cover

I love the Frank Herbert Dune series. I hold it in very high regard. So it is a big statement for me to proclaim that Hyperion by Dan Simmons is up their in the same halls of greatness as Dune.

Hyperion is full of depth. From characters to world building to the dialogue, this book has it all. This isn’t one of those easy ready Star Wars novels here. When you finish a chapter, you will have a ton of things to think about. That’s a good thing. You get something out of the reading journey that you go on…

Enough with the “How to’s” and “10 things you can do” stories.

One of my book shelves.

I went looking for “Book Reviews” on Medium and found a deluge of “How to write a book review” articles. That isn’t content. That’s not even creative. However, the “How to” and “10 things you should be doing” articles seem to be the bread and butter of the site. “Here’s how you can create content” is THE only content.

I went into Medium hoping that well thought out and logically written content had a better shot of reaching people. Apparently, I can reach people outside of Medium rather easily. It’s the people inside Medium who seem to only be interested…

As technology moves forward and the “Cloud” creates more and more Echo Chambers, music has not been spared as a casualty.

Rob Zombie — The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy album cover

Rob Zombie scored his first №1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart with the release of his new album The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy, this last week, and he did it with only 26,000 copies sold. That’s a far cry from the 121,000 first week sales of Hellbilly Deluxe in 1998, but then music isn’t tabulated completely by physical sales anymore and most music isn’t listened to via a disc these days. It’s all streamed from one service or another, directly to our phones or smart speakers. …

The case for local brick and mortar grows.

Reseller Screenshot

Big Tech, in the form of eBay, has made the move to ban the sale of the previously pulled from being published, Dr. Seuss books. They are using their “Offensive materials policy” to remove listings and cancel sales from taking place. Make no mistake here, America is now in a very scary book banning phase.

Big Tech is making an excellent argument as to why local brick and mortar niche stores will be more valuable than ever before. From preserving history to allowing people to buy the collectibles that they want to buy, we now see that Big Tech is…

First they came for Dr. Seuss, who will they come for next?

Banned and no longer in print.

Back in the 90’s, the majority of the left were against censorship. What happened? Now, we have cancel culture, wrong think, wrong speak, wrong art, and alas wrong literature. What happened to not reading, watching, buying what you don’t like and letting others make up their own minds. What happened to having options?

Is Orwell’s 1984 next? What about Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451? Is Heinlein’s Starship Troopers too libertarian for today’s easily offended left? What doesn’t offend the masses on the left these days? Inquiring minds really want to know?

The reality of ignoring the Oath of Office and the Constitution.

Oath of Office

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

Seal of the United States Senate

Every Senator takes this Oath of Office when beginning their term into the position of being the representative to the state they are coming…

Apparently using FACTUAL historical occurrences for comparison is no longer allowed.

The basic summary that you have probably already read by now is that Gina Carano was fired from The Mandalorian by Disney for making what Twitter and the media called an “abhorrent” and “antisemitic” post to her Instagram. However… She didn’t.

Gina Carano’s post.

What she did post was the TRUTH. It is historical FACT that the Nazi’s turned their own citizens against the Jews. It is historical FACT that German neighbors turned in Jewish neighbors. It is historical FACT that neighbors beat and killed their own Jewish neighbors. …
